Wednesday 26th October saw my last event as Regional Chairman for the FSB. I gave my annual address on the many successes that the Surrey & West Sussex region had achieved over the past 12 months.
I reported to members in a packed room, The Attlee Suite at Portcullis House, that over my three-year tenure, as chairman, I had tried to guide the region so as to build a reputation of credibility to ensure that the voice of small business was heard both at local and national level where it counted. I told members that I had looked to provide a professional and business approach to everything we did and with that the leadership that was needed to make things happen.
This was followed by a Question Time panel, of which I sat on along with two of our regional MPs, Paul Scully MP & Chris Philp MP. The panel was chaired by Julia Hartley Brewer, journalist and Radio host.
The evening ended with some kind words from both my MP Jonathan Lord and a message from the Chancellor who were both very congratulatory on my tenure and work over the past 3 years – Must post those chqs.
